HISTORYCherubs This is a little group for pre-school children and their mums or dads. The age ranges from babes in arms to children about to go off to school. They meet in Hamble Priory Centre on every Wednesday at 2pm. They listen to stories, sing songs, ring the church bells, play games and then they go off with their mums or dads to enjoy refreshments as well as to colour pictures in the Priory Centre.
Beacons The Beacons Group meet in the Priory Centre just before the 10am Sunday Eucharist.
They listen to bible stories, sing songs, make things and join their parents and friends near the
end of the Eucharist. The age range is from three, to ten or eleven years of age. They are a
lively group which is very much part of church life.
Thursday Fellowship The Thursday Fellowship Group meets in the Church
every Thursday at 9.45am. They have a more informal Eucharist with hymns. Each month they have an activity.
It could be a speaker, an outing or making items for sale at a Fete. It is attended by about 30 people
all of whom enjoy themselves both worshipping God and having fellowship with one another.
St. Andrew's Servers
The servers at this church are a
very loyal, hardworking group of men, women and children. They are renowned for their
efficiency and can be seen each week performing their duties with reverence and dignity.
There are over 18 servers as well as 10 chalice assistants. Their role is to assist the
Sacred Ministers at the altar. They hold regular practices and have the occasional
social gatherings.
Lunch Club
The Priory Pantry, known as the Lunch Club takes place every other Tuesday. They are all volunteers who
give their time making very reasonably priced lunches for anyone who wishes to come. It has been running for a number of years and many people who are living alone or just looking for friendship are encouraged to come and spend time at the Priory Centre.
St. Andrew's Choir
The choir consist of ten people who under the guidance of our organist Miss Helen Griffiths have musically attained a very high standard. They practice weekly and each Sunday either sing anthems or other sacred pieces during communion. From time to time the choir takes part in concerts and musical evenings and there are special choral services at Christmas time and Easter. They too have occasional social gatherings and are a very valued organisation within the church.
The Place 2 B
An informal cafe that takes place in the Priory Centre on the last Saturday of every month from 10-12 noon.
Proceeds from the raffle are given to Charity and any profits are donated towards our annual Christmas lunch for the lonely on Christmas Day.
