Social Events
Many social events take place at St. Andrew's Church and in the Priory Centre.
The year usually begins with a very good Burns' Night with excellent food,
a piper to pipe in the haggis and accordion players to entertain.
The members of the Friends of St. Andrew's act as waiters and waitresses
in a very professional manner.
As the year goes on other
events take place on a regular basis. They range from local singing choirs to classical concerts
to barbeques and a New Orleans Jazz Lunch.
Many events take place within the church grounds. They include a Church Fete,
a Jazz Lunch under the old large evergreen cedar tree, Cockney Evenings, Progressive Suppers
and the rest. Schools come
to use the premises extensively and music can be heard from the
Hamble and Netley Scottish Pipe Band. Most of the money gathered from these events is given to a group called
'The Friends of St. Andrew's. This group is responsible for
the maintenance of the church building. In recent years the
tower and roof have been completely renovated so making the
church both watertight and weatherproof.
However,
not all events are undertaken to make money for church or
community use. We always have a selection of events, at a very reasonable cost,
for the church family members to enjoy.

We have various events and get togethers for the choir and servers. If there is ever anyone's birthday or anniversary it is remembered and often cake and wine appears.
We believe that our faith is to be enjoyed.
